Do you believe that God loves you?
Do you really?

Do you believe that your Father in heaven knows your needs?  He knows the desires of your heart and he knows the longing of your soul? Do you believe that he wants you to be happy? Do you believe that your father in heaven is eager to bless you?  Do you believe that he wants you to have a good and full life here on this earth and for you to sit by his side through all eternity?

Do you believe that God wants to give you good things?  That the plans he has for you are good and that he plans to give you hope and a future?  do you believe that he desires for you to prosper?

Do you believe that God loves you enough that all of these things weren’t enough?  Do you believe that God loves you, specifically, so much that he decided to count all the hairs on your head?  do you believe that he spends so much time thinking about you that the time cannot be quantified?  do you believe that the creator of the universe purposefully made you piece by piece?  Do you believe that you are a deliberate, hand crafted product of the King of Kings?

Do you believe that God loves you so much that he cries when you turn your back on him?
do you believe that God loves you so much that he sent his son to bring you home?
do you believe that God loves you so much that he is sitting on his porch every day waiting to see you?  Do you believe that God is planning a party for the day he sees you face to face?
Do you believe that God loves you so much that thoughts of you keep him up at night?  He worries about you and rejoices over you.

Do you believe it?  Everything I’ve written here is backed up in scripture.  some of it is familiar to those of us who have heard the message before, but familiarity is a great foe to relationship and can debilitate our intimacy with Christ.  It think it’s worth asking every once in a while, “do I believe God loves me?”  I think it’s worth forcing these scripture these facts back into the spotlight so that we can remember just how wonderful and glorious our god is, and how wholly overwhelming and unstoppable his love for us is.

So, do you believe?
