My last post here just over a week ago was talking about stopping with the navel gazing and just start doing. Well I very quickly realized that I haven’t been doing all that much introspection compared to the amount of activity in my life and no sooner had I made that realization than the physical repercussions of massive amounts of activity came crushing in on me. Which is to say, I slept. I went to bed that night, woke up for breakfast and went back to sleep. Today, the main topic of conversation on Google is the Mega Millions jackpot. Something like the fourth largest jackpot won in the history of the US, although I’d be a bit curious to read some more and do a little inflation study, but that’s for another day. No the real surprise for everyone is that TWO people in different parts of the country won.
Go figure right? What are the odds?
Well the odds of one person winning are 1 in 176 million and the odds of two people having the same numbers are probably somewhere in the vicinity of 1 in 309 billion (in case you were curious but I’m not 100% certain of that number). Read more…

The young cowboy finally had his chance at draggin’ calves to the brandin’ fire. For most of his life, he had been the one doin’ all the flankin’ and the brandin’. Doin’ the draggin’ was usually reserved for the old timers who had already spent their time in the trenches of the brandin’ pen.

This is the name of one of my favorite bands. They were one of the first Christian bands I saw perform live, AND they didn’t put me to sleep with soft acoustics. What makes me think of them today however, is the name. “7th Day Slumber”
