Check it out! My new-ish blog is up and running. CLX514.com.
Now to be honest it isn’t really MY blog, i’m using it for a lot of ministry stuff, and most of my posts will probably end up going there. I’ll still come back and publish here every so often on a more personal level to discuss my continuing struggles to live a Christian life, but I realized that more and more I am writing and thinking about the core message of the Cross.
CLX514 is about the cross and the contagious love of Christ. ”For we are compelled by the love of Christ.”
Whenever I think of Superman, whenever I think of Clark Kent, I usually don’t spend too much time thinking about how awesome a super hero he is. To be honest I’m not much of a fan of Superman so I don’t spend all that much time thinking about him in the first place. But when I do think about him, it is usually because I’m sitting in my little cubicle on Monday morning, after an awesome weekend and I’m asking the same question that Jon Acuff does in his book Quitter.

This weekend, I got into a conversation about identity and someone there asked me what my opinion was. This in itself is not out of the ordinary; I’m a guy with an opinion so it’s usually pretty safe to ask me my opinion on something and expect to get an answer. If I don’t have an opinion previously formed, I’ll ask some questions and form one in about ten minutes. (I try not to do this, it’s usually a bad opinion when I do, but there you go.)
What was out of the ordinary here, was that this person did not ask me to contribute to the conversation because he was curious about what I thought, he was curious because he knew I sat around thinking about the question of Christian Identity. “No I don’t” I said. “Dude, don’t you read your own blog?” he replied… The conversation may not have been quite like that but that’s how it went in my head. The artist cries out “we will overcome by the blood of the lamb and the word of our testimony.”. Watch the video. Much better than anything I could have written.
