2011 in review

The WordPress.com stats helper monkeys prepared a 2011 annual report for this blog.

Here’s an excerpt:

The concert hall at the Syndey Opera House holds 2,700 people. This blog was viewed about 12,000 times in 2011. If it were a concert at Sydney Opera House, it would take about 4 sold-out performances for that many people to see it.

Worship in color

The first act of worship involved a kid, some Crayola crayons and God. Now follow me as I walk you through this thought process.

So I was thinking about worship today/yesterday because when a five-month-old is feeling cranky and decides that the best way to spend the hours between 11pm and 5am is to see how many times he can wake up daddy, praying and worshiping becomes very necessary. At least for me.

I think the first act of worship actually occurred two chapters earlier in Genesis 2:19-20

I’ve talked about the body of Christ before, and I’ve talked about how we all have a role to fill.  This is meant as encouragement for people who feel like they have nothing to offer or people who have never had a place or mission to really call their own.

In other words, people like me.

But here’s the catch – you have to accept the role and the place.  And this is something I have not done very well lately.  You see, I’ve been buried in the ideas of the kind of person I want to be.  It’s a very long list that has all kinds of baggage attached to it but I’ll save you the hassle of reading through it and give you the bottom line: I want to be someone worthwhile. Short and Sweet 12/23

December 23, 2011 Leave a comment

We all know that it is better to give than to receive. But do we really believe it? I have to admit that there are a lot of times when I don’t, and right at the top of that list is Christmas time. No matter how much I give, I really want that one thing off my Amazon wish list. (no this is not a pitch to get you to buy me stuff :-p)
So do you believe it?
